WUHAN, China - Two-time Grand Slam champion and WTA Finals Ambassador Li Na led a WTA Future Stars Masterclass in Wuhan as part of WTA's commitment to engaging future generations.

Li was joined by China's WTA Future Stars qualifying event winners, Guo Meiqi and Chu Jiayu, as they passed on training tips to young Chinese players, who had the unique opportunity to have a close-up interaction with Li. The masterclass was part of an Asia-Pacific WTA Future Stars grassroots initiative that seeks to engage Under 14 and Under 16 girls across the region for an opportunity to play at the season-ending BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global in October.

Li also unveiled the official WTA WeChat account during Tuesday's WTA Future Stars Masterclass, which will serve as a channel to interact with Chinese-speaking tennis fans worldwide, creating a deeper connection with the sport and its players. During the masterclass, three lucky winners won the opportunity through WTA WeChat to ask questions directly to Li. The WTA WeChat account consists of three major sections - Match Reports, WTA Zone and Interactive Center. Fans can find the latest scores, stay close to behind the scenes news and even post their own Power To Inspire stories.

When asked about coming back to the tennis court, Li said, "I am very happy to be able to come back to the tennis court again, although this time not as an active player, I'm still making contributions to the development of tennis. The WTA Future Stars is a great program, which brings the future of the sport to the WTA Finals in Singapore. They will have the precious opportunities of watching the best players play and have close-up interactions with the top players, which can benefit their career development."

"It has been amazing to see the support for the WTA Future Stars from the various tennis associations and we are happy to welcome the final two competitors from China, Guo Meiqi and Chu Jiayu, to compete at the WTA Future Stars Finals held in conjunction with the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global," said Melissa Pine, the WTA Vice President of APAC and WTA Finals Tournament Director. "We look forward to some great matches among these young and talented ladies, our WTA Future Stars, who will hopefully take on the big stage one day at the WTA Finals."
